What is the Process?
Once you have decided that both parties would like to participate in a mediation prior to filing for a divorce, paternity, or post-divorce
case, you would contact the office and set up for the initial three (3) hour appointment.
The office will send both parties an
information packet to complete prior to the appointment.
At the appointment, Diane Dramko will meet with both parties, review
the completed information packet and begin discussing the pending issues.
If the parties come to an agreement, Diane Dramko
will prepare the agreement for the parties signature. If either party wishes to discuss the agreement with an attorney , another
session is set up for the parties to return to sign the agreement or discuss the matter further.
If neither wishes to have a
attorney review the documents, the agreement is signed by both parties.
The parties would then take the agreement along with
the other required documents for the type of case involved and file it with the clerk's office with the appropriate filing fee.
(The
documents for an uncontested divorce can be purchased at the clerk's office or prepared by the office for a fee.)
