The goal of mediation is to have the parties, with the help of a mediator, negotiate and get a written agreement so they can file all required documents with the court so the parties can have an uncontested divorce. Most cases, once an agreement is reached and all required court documents are filed, the parties can avoid a court hearing.
The divorce process is less stressful and costly.
